City, Country | Belgrade, Serbia
Address | Mihaila Mike Jankovića 6, Belgrade, Serbia

museum and a memorial complex, it’s one of the most recognisable and visited destinations in Belgrade.

MY preserves, studies and provides an innovative interpretation of the cultural heritage of Yugoslavia, with special emphasis on the social history of the socialist period. As an initiator of many activities which have led to significant changes in cultural practice in Serbia, MY is exceptionally well-regarded in professional circles throughout the region. The museum is considered to be an attractive partner, not only by cultural institutions, but also by organisations from the civil and business sectors.

MY specializes in the conservation of works of art and historical items which, individually or collectively, have a special significance for exploring historical, cultural, scientific and technological developments in the period of history in which the Yugoslav state existed (and public and private life during the twentieth century, including the development of the concept of Yugoslavism, before and after the existence of the state founded under that name), as well as other cultural and historical phenomena connected with Yugoslavia in the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

MY is trying to secure a forum for open dialogue and the exchange of knowledge and experiences with regard to 20th century social and cultural phenomena. With our innovative approach to collections and preserved testimonies about Yugoslavia, MY offer visitors and other users a unique experience through exhibitions, mediation and participation-oriented programmes.
